Chicago (family photography), here I come…

(And yes, it’s going to be that exciting!)

A little backstory:

Taken shortly after moving to Madison.

My family and I moved to Madison in 2017 from the West Coast. We’d never spent any time in the Midwest, we’d never visited Madison and we certainly didn’t know much about our new hometown. As we got to know friends and neighbors here I noticed a common thread among people’s life stories: a connection to Chicago. It seems to me that so many people I know here are from Chicago, have spent time living in Chicago, have family that live in Chicago, went to school in Chicago, etc., etc.

Having never visited Chicago, except to make flight connections at O’Hare, doing so was high on my list of things I wanted to do after to moving to Madison. I’m happy to say we’ve had a number of great visits there despite the uncertainty of travel over the past few years. And each visit we’ve made has been fantastic. We’ve visited amazing museums, eaten great food and discovered beautiful parks, buildings and neighborhoods. But I’m sure you understand because if you’re reading this then you’ve probably been there, too!

And the upshot is?

I love a fresh project, a new endeavor and an exciting challenge and an expansion of my business fit all those criteria. And so I decided to begin offering family photography sessions in Chicago!

Starting in April, I’ll have select weekends set aside for family photo sessions in the Chicago area and will be available for special travel dates as well.

I’m really excited about this new part of my business and I hope you (or someone you know) will be also. Meeting new people, getting to know new families, learning more about new places–I think it’s going to be great.
