I  think that one of the greatest things about candid or documentary style family photography is how easy and stress free it can be. There’s no need to coordinate outfits or to make sure that your toddler is looking at the camera at all the right moments. The relaxed family photos of a storytelling session can happen whenever and wherever it’s convenient for you and as the subject of the photos all you have to do is spend time with the people you love doing what comes naturally.  For this family that meant listening to music, playing a game, having a snack, jumping on the bed and relaxing at home. We laughed, we chatted, we all had a good time and all the while I was preserving this kind of day for them to remember. While I love a beautiful posed portrait, these kinds of relaxed family photos really have my heart. They’re natural, they’re joyful, they’re poignant and they’re so meaningful.
