After the busy-ness of the fall and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I’m happy to be able to take the time to blog some work from the past few months. As part of my grand-opening here in Madison, I gave away a free birth photography package. I was so excited to photograph the birth experience of the lucky winner in October and am almost as excited to share the photos now with you. Being invited to witness a birth and to be able to document it is such an amazing experience. And it is an incredible honor to capture the strength, love, joy and beauty of this transformative event for a family.

I was wowed by the grace and calm of this beautiful mother as she brought her daughter into the world. Surrounded by the incredible support of her family and her medical team, she demonstrated such strength and determination as her daughter made her way into the world outside the womb. I feel so lucky to have been able to both witness and capture the beautifully intense emotion of this birth. I hope that this family will look back on these images of such an important moment in their lives with the same joy that they all showed on this little girl’s birthday.
